We’re thrilled to share, to keep up with growing demand, we’re expanding production of our Canadian Classic Infant Formula to one of our trusted partner facilities in Europe—where many of our beloved formulas, including more of our Classic range, are already made. This expansion allows us to reach more families while maintaining the exceptional quality, wholesome ingredients, and care you know and trust.
A Commitment to Quality and Ingredients
At Kendamil, we’re committed to supporting your little ones with high-quality, wholesome nutrition. Our Canadian Classic Infant Formula will continue to be made with European milk from trusted European farms—just as it always has been! Our R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams are involved in every step of the process, ensuring every tin meets the same world-class standards you know and love.
What’s Different on the Label?
We understand that even minor updates to the label can raise questions. Here’s what you need to know about the changes:
- Skimmed Milk: Now labeled to reflect we’re using the liquid form rather than powder.
- Oils: 'Sunflower, Coconut, Rapeseed' updated to 'Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Rapeseed Oil' for clarity.
- Alpha-Lactalbumin: Alpha-lactalbumin levels were increased to enhance the natural concentration of L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid that plays a role in baby’s growth and development. The label position remains unchanged—only the amount has been updated to reflect this improvement.
- Calcium Source: Now Calcium Phosphate, another common source of calcium in infant formula, offering the same nutritional benefits.
- Nutritional Panel: Adjusted to align with Canadian labeling requirements, with minor changes in energy units and fat values.
Will My Baby Notice Any Changes?
Some little ones may notice slight variations in taste and texture. The taste might be slightly less sweet and creamy, and the appearance may be paler and finer due to a different heating process. However, the texture and solubility should remain consistent. If you notice any changes, simply swirl or shake to reconstitute.
How do I know if my can is from your partner facility and how can I transition my child?
You will find an icon on the back of the Canadian Classic Infant Formula can indicating our partner facility location in Europe (France). While most babies won’t notice a difference, we recommend a gradual transition over 7-14 days to allow your little one’s digestive system to adjust. Start with midday feeds and avoid bedtime feeds initially. By Day 5, all feeds can be fully transitioned to Kendamil. You can read more about this in our transition guide.
